"Start on a bike that will allow me to travel far and fast with all my luggages, but with something exclusive and inevitably sporty... (...) it will also have some accessories that I have in mind for many months and an exhaust that I will rework".
These words dated back from April 2019 make me particularly happy because after completing the SuperRoad project, the project description corresponds 100% to the result obtained! Aesthetically, I would not have done the project differently and I like it a lot: the exhaust has been reworked and remains legal and approved, the accessories I had thought of work very well but above all it is a very "fun" motorcycle to use! Clearly i do not ride everyone's motorcycle !!
Everything started from the desire to travel which means luggages and protection. For the luggages, i had to create a rear luggage rack and a left side bag carrier, because on the right I wanted to leave as much room as possible for the exhaust and I must say that I was well inspired! The saddle had already been split into two parts instead of just one for the original saddle, so it was easy to imagine a luggage rack or tray but I wanted an additional function of or the two opening panels that allow when closed to put a bag without damaging the paint and when open to position a small bag between the two side panels through which you could attach a leather strap for example ....
Associated with this luggage rack, a side bag carrier yes but not a standard one ! Why ? Because using a motorcycle with a large side bag carrier on a daily basis means having the opportunity to transport a lot of things but with the constraint of the width of the motorcycle in urban traffic, or to leave the bag carrier at home but having an ugly chassis on the side of the motorcycle namely the frame on which the said bag carrier rests. My solution? An expandable side bag carrier with very good carrying capacity when unfolded but with a lot of visual lightness when folded!
To be honest, the result is great and works wonderfully! I was talking a little above about luggage but also about protection .... On this occasion I designed a front light fairing specially dedicated for the motorcycle while integrating the option of installing your mobile phone and even charging it when riding ! No more excuses for not listening good music on long journeys ...
Is that All ? No of course, then come the details and improvements such as the tank cap holder (the original tank has a non-hinged cap), very practical when at the gas station looking for a place clean to put it down and that we never find elsewhere, but also the red leather knee pad which is positioned and removed thanks to the scratch and therefore allows to modify slightly and as desired the decoration of the motorcycle .... One can quite imagine designing knee fluids of different colors to go to the end of the idea.
Now that's all, right ? Hum.... Aside from the license plate holder ?
Yes that's almost everything except for one element that made me think a lot and occupy a lot of my thinking .... I wanted to free the rear part of the bike namely the license plate registration but also the rear lights and indicators so I had the idea of associating the left side lights and indicators with the side bag carrier, so to speak, to incorporate them into this side bag carrier, while doubling them for more visibility and therefore safety .... . If I am very happy with the result (more than the Swiss authorities who subsequently asked me to keep only one indicator and light on each side .... grrrrr ....), it was necessary to let the right part lights / indicators "float" outside any part of the chassis or bodywork but once again it is a choice and it gives a very personal touch to this bike!
Here we are, and now you know almost as much as i do ! Let's meet at the end of this month for a new publication devoted to a new motorcycle which I hope will make people talk about it !

Ces mots d'avril 2019, ils me font particulièrement plaisir car après avoir terminé le projet de la SuperRoad la description du projet correspond à 100% au résultat obtenu ! Esthétiquement, je n'aurais pas réalisé le projet différemment et il me plait énormément : l'échappement a été retravaillé en adoptant une forme double et reste légal et homologué, les accessoires auxquels j'avais pensé fonctionnent très bien mais surtout c'est une moto très "fun" à utiliser ! Clairement on ne roule pas sur la moto de Madame ou Monsieur tout le monde !!
Tout est donc parti de la capacité à voyager, et qui dit capacité à voyager dit bagages et protection. Pour les bagages, il fallait créer un porte-bagages arrière et une valise latérale gauche, car à droite je souhaitais laisser le plus de place possible pour l'échappement et je dois dire que j'ai été bien inspiré ! La selle avait déjà été séparée en deux parties au lieu d'une seule pour la selle d'origine, il était donc facile d'imaginer un porte-bagage ou un plateau mais je souhaitais une fonction supplémentaire d'ou les deux panneaux ouvrants qui permettent fermés de poser un sac sans abimer la peinture et ouvert de positionner un petit sac entre les deux panneaux latéraux à travers desquels on pourrait fixer une lanière en cuir par exemple....
Associée à ce porte-bagage, une valise oui mais pas une simple valise ! Pourquoi ? Parce que utiliser au quotidien une moto avec une grosse valise latérale implique d'avoir l'occasion de transporter beaucoup de choses mais avec la contrainte de la largeur de la moto dans la circulation urbaine, ou de laisser la valise à la maison mais avoir bien souvent sur le coté de la moto un élément très disgracieux à savoir le chassis sur lequel repose la dite valise. Ma solution ? Une valise en accordéon avec une très bonne capacité de transport une fois dépliée mais avec beaucoup de légèreté visuelle une fois repliée !
Pour tout vous dire le résultat est top et fonctionne à merveille ! Je parlais un peu plus haut de bagages mais aussi de protection.... A cette occasion j'ai dessiné un tête de fourche spécialement dédié pour la moto tout en intégrant l'option d'y installer son téléphone portable et même de le charger en roulant ! Plus d'excuses pour ne pas écouter de la bonne musique sur les longs trajets...
C'est tout ? Non bien entendu, viennent ensuite les détails et les améliorations comme le porte-bouchon réservoir (d'origine le reservoir possède un bouchon sans charnière) que l'on aperçoit ci-dessus, bien pratique lorsqu'à la station service on cherche un endroit propre pour le poser et que l'on ne trouve jamais d'ailleurs, mais aussi le grippe-genoux en cuir rouge qui se positionne et s'enlève grâce aux scratch et permet donc de modifier légèrement et à sa guise la décoration de la moto.... On peut tout à fait imaginer concevoir des grippes genoux de couleurs différentes pour aller au bout de l'idée.
Maintenant c'est tout ? Mis à part le porte plaque d'immatriculation oui c'est presque tout à l'exception d'une élément qui m'a fait beaucoup réfléchir et occuper beaucoup de ma réflexion.... Je souhaitais dégager la partie arrière de la plaque d'immatriculation mais aussi des clignotants j'ai donc eu l'idée d'associer les feux et clignotants gauche à la valise pour ainsi dire les incorporer à cette valise, tout en les doublant pour plus de visibilité et donc de sécurité..... Si moi je suis très content du résultat (plus que les autorités suisses qui m'ont demandé par la suite de ne garder qu'un seul clignotant et feux de chaque côté.... grrrrr....), il a fallu prendre le partie pris de laisser la partie droite feux / clignotants "flotter" en dehors de tout élément de chassis ou de carrosserie mais encore une fois c'est un partie pris et il donne une touche très personnelle à cette moto !
